wednesday work drama of the full moon...

week of the full moon we tend to get the crazies...the ones that probably bonked their heads too many times and developed a permanent contusion to the commonsense part of the brain or maybe that part just didn't fully develop.

yesterday was filled with internet calls.
here's my thought: if you don't know how to use, refuse to learn, or choose to be ignorant when it comes to using the internet - then that's just not my problem.
case in point:

caller: "i am an idiot when it comes to the internet and YOUR (emphasis on your) website is hard to navigate. i wanted the digital download for a Beth Moore lesson and can't locate them"

me: "did you type in 'digital download' in the little empty box next to the word search at the top right corner"

caller: "yes and nothing is coming up it just says not able to locate any information".

me: "lets walk through it. type in 'digital' space 'download'".

caller: "is it all one word 'digitalspacedownload'"?

me: (mind you i'm banging my forehead on the edge of my desk at this point) "no. type in the word 'digital' then hit the space bar on your keyboard then type "download" as 1 word after the space".

caller: "oh there it is. i told you YOUR website was hard to navigate".

all day long...

i was told by a customer (because i asked if her street spelling for shipping was B as in Boy or V as in Victor for the street name Bexley - plus having a THICK southern accent & trying to listen to her talk to me while i was on speakerphone probably didn't help me hear her clearly)
"i don't like the way you talk you are too professional for this job and shouldn't work there."

it's so tempting to hit the hang up button so many times on people.
- calling to complain because they went to return something but didn't have the receipt and wanted cash back but the retail store said they require a receipt for cash returns.
- asking me about the weather here in Nashville when clearly they've dialed a retail call line not the Nashville Weather Service.
- wondering why they didn't get their digital download in the mail.
- trying to explain to people how the postal service works.
- trying to explain the difference between in-store only and over the phone.

i have more patience in my pinky finger than i've ever had in my whole life and i've learned i just don't care about anything anymore. i've turned stoic and sarcastic (more than usual). i don't really like people and i hate the weather...i am the human form of the cartoon Daria (including the artist best friend).
